The following applies to paid subscription GradeSource
service:
|
|
Paid subscription service is billed according to the average number of active students present
in each monthly billing cycle and by generating reports for active courses. An active student
is a student listed in an active course. A count of the active students is made every time an
instructor generates reports for each course. At the end of each cycle, the average number of
active students per instructor is calculated, which determines the billing amount. Additionally,
generating reports for active courses for which there are not yet any active students will be
billed at our minimum rate.
|
 |
How can I keep the cost of my service to a bare minimum?
You can save money when you reduce the
number of active students in your courses. One way to reduce the number of active students is to
archive your course soon after the course ends by using GradeSource's "Archive Course" option.
GradeSource provides the same level of service for an archived course, except student report
pages are no longer available. Instructor reports can still be generated. An Instructor can
easily reactivate an archived course at any time. Another way to reduce the number of active
students is by deleting students that are no longer enrolled and by importing the current roster
on a regular basis.
|
 |
Will my billing change due to the number of courses I teach?
No. The billing is based upon the
average number of active students in all courses regardless of the number of courses that are
active.
|
 |
When does the monthly billing cycle begin?
The monthly billing cycle begins once you generate
reports for an active course.
|
 |
What happens if I don't teach for a few months? Am I still billed?
You are only billed based on
the average number of active students in a monthly billing cycle and by generating reports for
active courses. Once all of your courses are archived, the number of active students immediately
drops to zero. Within one month, when the average number of active students drops to zero, you
will no longer be billed. GradeSource does not prorate billing for partial months of service.
|
 |
Once I return to teaching after a break, how do I reestablish GradeSource service?
You just start
using GradeSource as usual. Once you generate reports for an active course, you start a new
billing cycle.
|
 |
Is there any sort of trial period where I can try GradeSource to
see how I like it before being billed?
Yes! After using GradeSource, if you don't want to be billed, please email us to cancel
your service at info@gradesource.com. If we receive a cancellation notice from you within 30
days of generating your first report for an active course, your service will be disabled and you
will not be billed. Additionally, since your billing cycle does not begin until you generate
reports for an active course, you can investigate much of what GradeSource has to offer at no cost.
This allows you to set up your courses in advance knowing that you are not starting the billing
until you generate reports for an active course.
|
 |
Does GradeSource offer any package deals where a department or
school can get a reduced rate?
Yes! Please contact info@gradesource for inquiries about package deals.
|
 |
Besides saving money, are there any other benefits that are
part of a package deal?
Yes! As part
of a package deal, GradeSource will establish a GradeSource administrator account. Through the
administrator account, the administrator can establish instructor accounts, establish courses for
those instructors, and can maintain student lists in each course. After an administrator makes
an update, when an instructor next accesses their account, they are asked to confirm the updates.
In this way, the administrator automates updating course information while the instructor is in
control to accept, postpone or reject updates.
